EVO was entering the fourth day of his rigorous hunger strike today. He spoke yesterday night and at noon today. His words were serene, persuasive and forceful. He offered "a biometric electoral register," even better than the one that has governed electoral processes in his country, and described by international institutions as trustworthy and of high quality.
He is playing chess during his free moments.
Responding to a journalist’s question during a television interview as to how he would guarantee that the electoral register is ready for the December elections in the face of the oligarchy’s stratagems, he responded, "I believe in the people."
Nobody is disputing now that he is winning the battle without resorting to the use of force or abuse of power.
The adversary cannot resist his broadside. It is possible that an agreement will be announced in the early hours of Monday, without resorting to the Presidential Decree, in virtue of a Congressional Law, as Evo wished. Every hour that passes without this agreement will multiply the strength and the national and international support for the indigenous president of Bolivia.
Opposition parliamentarians have already returned and are negotiating. This is good news.
